In 1986, I suddenly realized I needed an audience in front of me when I work. With my ego barely in check, I joined Toastmasters, volunteered to speak for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society, went back to school at Orange Coast College, and competed on their state-ranked speech team. I received my degree in Speech Communication at the California State University at Long Beach, specializing in Organizational Communication and Nonverbal Communication.

Every day is a continuation of expanding and updating my knowledge of public speaking, networking, marketing and advertising, by voracious reading and talking with everyone I meet.  With this awareness, I continually tweak each of my presentations and speeches on my quest for never-ending improvement, as well as adding to my knowledge storehouse to draw from for my coaching clients.

I am constantly involved with up-and-coming speakers and speaking techniques in my position as Chair of Founders’ District Speakers’ Bureau, a professional speakers division of TMI, the world’s leading organization for training in public speaking and leadership.

I have developed and present seminars on Negotiating, Instant Credibility, Networking/Small Talk, Vitality at any Age, and Humor in the Workplace.

This blog is an outlet for the myriad of information I have collected and I would be ‘remiss’ if I didn’t share all this information with you.  Please enjoy and comment.
