I worked with a guy 20 years ago who had a big yard with a bunch of plants. A group of us was going out for a beer after work. I invited him.
He said, “No, Wednesday is ‘Yard Night’.”
I said, “Yard night!? Change it to Thursday and let’s go!”
Wasn’t going to happen.
This was his way of making SURE the yard was done. Persuasion was out of the question.
Do YOU have a Yard Night to work on your goals, your presentation, your future presentation, your book, your … !?
I know … you’ve got something going on right now.
Like my motivational-speaker friend Brian Adams says, we’ve all got “something” going on. Either we’re in the middle of something, just coming off of something, or something’s coming up. That’s not a reason OR excuse.
Moral: Find your day, time, place or whatever to work on your project, at the exclusion of everything else.
